NSF Federal Cyber Service: Scholarship for Service
Applications due June 30th, 2009 by 5PM
Eligibility: Students interested in applying MUST meet all of the following requirements:- be a U.S. citizen
- be in the final two years (max 4 semesters) of pursuing a bachelor's degree at the start of the award
- majoring in Information Assurance, Computer Science, or Management Information (CS and MIS majors must also have a concentration in Information Assurance)
- be attending school full-time throughout the entire length of the scholarship
- meet criteria for Federal employment
- be eligible for a security clearance
- annual academic stipend ($8,000 undergrad, $12,000 graduate)
- full tuition scholarship
- one year of employment with the federal government for every year of scholarship (student is responsible for applying for and obtaining a position to fulfill this service obligation)
- some travel accommodations for Information Assurance related conferences/events
- Room & Board in on-campus facility, or housing stipend
- a new computer is provided
- up to $4,074 per year for books and course/research related supplies
- complete the degree program successfully
- complete summer internship(s) with a participating federal agency
- complete one year of work at a participating agency for every year of scholarship
