Application Process
Applications for the current NSF Federal Cyber Service: Scholarship for Service (SFS) awards are due on June 30, 2009. Application packages will be reviewed by a panel of NUCIA faculty and Senior Technical Associates, which will select a group of finalists. The finalists may be invited to the UNO campus to give a presentation or interview for the panel. Based on the panel's recommendation, a selection of the finalists will receive offers for the Federal Cyber Service: Scholarship for Service (SFS).

- A letter expressing interest in the SFS program that includes a statement that indicates an understanding of the two year degree seeking nature of the program and of the two year commitment to federal government after graduation.
- A copy of an official transcript of all college work - undergraduate program or previous master's degree work.
- A two to five page paper describing the applicant's interest in Information Assurance, career goals, and relevant background information. Papers must be submitted using either Times New Roman or Arial fonts, 12pt. font, double spaced, with 1" margins.
- Recommendation letters from at least two faculty members and one outside source, especially former or current employers familiar with the student's background.
- Official acceptance into the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The UNO Application for Graduate and Undergraduate Students is online or can be obtained from an IS&T advisor.
- The application form for SFS, which is available in pdf format.
